About Reshma Thakkallapelly
Building dependable digital platforms for a more connected, intelligent, and accessible healthcare future.

Reshma’s technology journey has been shaped by a practical belief: innovation matters most when it works reliably at scale. Before deepening her focus in digital healthcare, she contributed to large-scale retail modernization work, including cloud-native, multi-tenant platform architecture supporting thousands of retail locations across North America. That experience with configuration-driven design, real-time visibility, and enterprise reliability now informs her approach to healthcare platforms, where every data exchange can influence access, affordability, and continuity of care.
At Elevance Health, Reshma has been associated with digital pharmacy and home-delivery initiatives focused on making prescription fulfillment more streamlined and cost-effective. Her SCIS 2025 speaker page lists her as “Architect/ Tech Lead, Elevance Health,” and her talk, “24/7 Pharmacy at Your Fingertips,” describes her role as a lead and architecture solution provider for API backend operations on the Advanced Home Delivery project, serving regular and specialty drug delivery for customers enrolled in Elevance Health BCBS plans.

Her work emphasizes event-driven architecture, API-led integration, FHIR and NCPDP interoperability, payer and PBM ecosystems, cloud modernization, privacy-by-design controls, and deep observability across critical workflows. Industry coverage describes her focus on digital pharmacy infrastructure that connects FHIR-based clinical APIs, NCPDP transaction flows, PBM platforms, claims systems, and third-party partners, with special attention to secure orchestration and reliable middle- and back-tier systems.
Reshma is recognized for architecting highly available, standards-based systems that support national-scale, regulated environments. Her expertise includes microservices architecture, AWS and Azure cloud implementations, DevOps and CI/CD
transformation, API governance, and explainable AI-driven decision frameworks. SCRS lists her as a Fellow Awardee associated with Anthem Inc., highlighting her background in microservices, AWS, Azure, generative AI, and cross-functional technology leadership.
As a speaker, writer, and technology contributor, Reshma advocates for a future where digital healthcare is not simply app-driven, but infrastructure-driven—built on trustworthy data flows, intelligent automation, interoperable platforms, and systems that can adapt as member needs, clinical programs, and regulatory expectations evolve. Her work reflects a commitment to making complex enterprise technology simpler, safer, and more useful for patients, clinicians, partners, and organizations.
